    Introduction

    The National Committee identified the need for a person in a position within the club as Membership Secretary.


    The National Committee realised that they need to be aware of the current status of Club membership. This document identifies the post profile for the role of Membership Secretary and the reporting requirements for the post holder.

    Furthermore the post will be an executive position, with the Post Holder being a permanent member of the National Committee and accountable to that Committee

    Objective

    The objective of the Membership Secretary is to ensure that the National Committee is informed of any details relating to the membership levels of the Club

    Responsibility

    The Memberships Secretary is responsible for:
    • Issuing of all new membership numbers

    • Issuing of membership renewal reminders

    • Ensuring that the club membership database is kept up to date

    • Forwarding regular database updates to those National Committee members who it is deemed, by the NC, necessary to have them, these are currently the Events Secretary, National Secretary, Show Co-ordinators, and Webmaster.

    • Ensuring that information is available for sending to recognised discount dealers as required, this shall at all times be through the National Secretary.

    Communication

    The Membership Secretary shall report back to the National Committee as and when the need arises and shall submit, at their discretion articles for inclusion in the club magazine.In addition to the previously mentioned communiqués, the post holder shall also submit a report for the Annual General Meeting each year.

    Post Duration

    In line with current National Committee guidelines, the post holder shall occupy the position for two years, renewable at the appropriate club Annual General Meeting. The National Committee can dissolve this post if it is felt that it is no longer warranted.
