    Introduction

    The National Committee identified the need for a person in a position within the club as Chairperson.


    This document identifies the post profile for the role of Chairperson and the reporting requirements for the post holder.

    Furthermore the post will be an executive position, with the Post Holder being a permanent member of the National Committee and accountable to that Committee

    Objective

    		 The objective of the Chairperson is to be a figurehead and focal point for the club

    Responsibility

    		 The Chairperson is responsible for:
    • Overseeing the running of the National Committee and therefore the whole club.

    • Chairing official committee meetings.

    • Dealing with matters that cannot be dealt with by the Vice Chairperson.

    • Delegating tasks to members of the National Committee to whom he thinks most suitable, these being outside the boundaries of particular role descriptions

    Communication

    		 The Chairperson shall report back to the National Committee as and when the need arises and shall submit, as deemed necessary articles for inclusion in the club magazine. In addition to the previously mentioned communiqué, the post holder shall also submit a report for the Annual General Meeting each year.

    Post Duration

    		 In line with current National Committee guidelines, the post holder shall occupy the position for two-years, renewable at the club Annual General Meeting.
